In addition to its academic activities, NRIBM is involved in a host of other activities which are an extension into allied fields and which strengthen the institute-industry bonds.

Investment and Money Fair 2010

The Institutes became the academic partners to the Investment & Money fair 2010 organized by the Ahmedabad Stock Exchange and All Gujarat Investor Protection Trust between 22nd and 24th October 2010 at Karnavati Club. The exhibition was attended by the who's who of Ahmedabad including several budding investors, NRIs, businessmen, corporate executives etc.

Corporate Congregation, Alumni Meet and Annual Day

SANKALAN 2010 by GLS STAMP (STudent & Alumni Association of Management Programmes) of Gujarat Law Society was organized by the institute on December 18, 2010 at its Campus.

The event provided a wonderful platform to alumni of 10 years to re-live their memories of MBA days and share with each other experiences of their lives post that. It also gave an opportunity to the current batches to interact with their alumni. The bash was attended by around 300 alumni.

NRIBM'S “Excellence in Management Award”

Gujarat Law Society organized the presentation ceremony of N R Institute of Business Management's “Excellence in Management Award”.

Shri Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Gujarat State presented the silver trophy and certificate to Shri Gautam S Adani, Chairman, Adani Group in recognition of his exceptional contribution in the field of business management and his distinguished leadership.

Third Aims International Conference on Management

The Institute was the privileged co-sponsor of the Third AIMS International Conference on Management. This conference was organized at the new IIM Ahmedabad Campus under the able leadership of Prof Omprakash Gupta, Prof Bakul Dholakia and Prof Maheshwari. The institute Director Dr Hitesh Ruparel had the honor of chairing a technical session on the first day of the conference.

MICAMP – The Entrepreneurship Workshop

The Institute hosted MICAMP, a workshop on Entrepreneurship conducted by Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad. The aim of this workshop was to help participants understand the opportunities in corporate and business entrepreneurship and encourage them to develop entrepreneurship as a capability. The speakers of the workshop included Prof. Atul Tondon, Dr Gautam Raj Jain, Mr Jay Ruparel and Mr Kamal Bansal.

The Expert Opinion Series

XO (eXpert Opinion) is a series of annual seminars conducted by the Institute to provide pragmatic wisdom to the students who are on the threshold of their professional careers. It is an event, where torch bearers of major industrial sectors and eminent business personalities share their views about the macro and micro integrities of the industry.

XO 2011 focused on Financial, Hospitality, Waste Management and Consumer Durables sectors. The distinguished speakers who shared their valuable insights included Mr Parag Shah from ICICI Bank, Mr Nishith Vyas from DSP Blackrock, Mr Suresh Iyer from GRUH Finance Ltd, Mr Rajendra Sharma from Infocom Network Ltd., Mr Vikrant Kishore from WOW Gujarat, Mr Joseph D'Couto from Bhagwati Banquets & Hotels Ltd., Mr Anupam Mukherjee from HP, Mr Nirmeet Kacheria from Guardian Glass Industries who shared their views on various fields ranging from corporate planning to business development and managing intellectual brains in competitive environment to technology management with several unique methodologies for building a profitable business model. It was an enriching experience for the students.

Workshop on Communication & Soft Skills

Every year the Institute conducts workshops to develop and enhance the communication & soft skills of the students. Last year, Ms Sharija Menon & Mr Mohit Masand conducted communication workshop covering aspects like Fundamentals of English Grammar, Etiquette and Presentation skills. The Institute in association with Aspire Human Capital Management Pvt. Ltd, Gurgaon organized a Managerial Communication workshop which emphasized areas like Group Discussion, Interviews; Resume writing, Time Management & Stress Management.

Research @ Institutes

Institutes attempt at developing innovations in management practices and leveraging the expertise of corporate partners. Five research cells have been set up in the areas of:

• Financial Services
• Non-Financial Services
• IT, Technology & BPO
• Engineering and Manufacturing
• Pharma, FMCG, Media and Advertising

These cells actively interact with companies in relevant sectors and undertake live research projects, organize guest talks and take up joint research projects.

Research Papers by Students and Facility

The students and faculty members of the institutes are actively involved in writing research papers on various contemporary issues in national and international journals. Over the period of the last one year, the students and faculty members have published more than 35 research papers.

Executive / Management Development Programmes

The institute has undertaken Executive Development Programs for dealers and sales executives of Gujarat Ambuja Cement Ltd., Jyoti Sangh and others. Similar MDPs in the area of Corporate Finance, Strategic Management and E-business Management are underway.

Rewarding Merit

In order to further the mission of excellence in education, the institute awards gold medals to students for academic achievements. The Gujarat Law Society has instituted the Indravadan M Nanavati Memorial Gold Medal for Best Performance in Marketing Management and Navnitlal Ranchhodlal Memorial Gold Medal for Best Performance in Financial Management.
